Schwarzkopf BC Bonacure hair therapy Repair Rescue Review

The New Year started off on a slow note as far as my blog is concerned. But New Year has brought some major changes in my life. Finally, I am moving into my own space...Yay! I have been busy house hunting since the beginning of 2015, hence the absence on the blog. And at last I have found my new place. It is not exactly what I wanted but close enough. I am super excited to do my space. You know the feeling to design your own place from scratch. It is pure bliss! I promise as soon as I settle down I will be posting regularly. There are so many products waiting to be reviewed, so many reviews waiting to be published and so many ideas waiting to be put into action.

So, let’s start off 2015 by showing some love to our crowning glory. Our manes definitely deserve some serious TLC every once in a while. The heat tools, excessive shampooing, those chemical laden styling products...not to forget insane amount of pollution and poor diet, our hair go through a lot. Lot of us actually tend to ignore our hair and all our focus remains on our skin care. But even if you have an amazing skin but dry, dull hair that look lifeless then all your efforts to look presentable would go down the drain. We all MUST pay extra attention to our hair.
I myself am blessed with dry, wavy, and porous hair which is prone to split ends. I am always searching for something that can moisturize my hair from deep within and can keep them healthy. And that is the reason that I am always experimenting with my hair care products.

Recently I got myself Schwarzkopf BC Bonacure hair therapy Repair Rescue which is a treatment for damaged hair. Now, I have used quite a lot of spa creams from various brands but this is my first time trying out any Schwarzkopf product. In my never ending search of miraculous hair care products I have tried Matrix, Loreal salon ranges, Wella products and various other drugstore items. Now, drugstore products have actually never worked for my hair. Now, don’t get me wrong. I love drugstore when it comes to makeup but somehow nothing has worked well for my hair.

Packaging: Schwarzkopf BC Bonacure hair therapy Repair Rescue comes in a round plastic tub with a screw-on cap. The packaging is red and white and is pretty basic. The tub is not heavy at all and can be carried easily in the purse.

Price: Rs. 900 for 200ml product.

Fragrance: Fresh and refreshing spa like fragrance which doesn’t linger.

My view: I know a lot of people don’t prefer tub packaging since they have to dig their nails to take the product out. But I prefer it over a tube packaging (a bottle packaging would not work since the product is very thick, else I would have voted for it) since I cannot go through the trouble of squeezing out the product in the bathroom with my soap soaked hands. Not to forget how clumsy I am with things and that I might end up slipping the tube off my hands into the tub or bucket. You get my point?

Schwarzkopf BC Bonacure hair therapy Repair Rescue has a consistency of a cream. It is not as thick or balmy as Loreal salon range spa treatments but is on the same lines as Matrix treatments.

Also, the quantity provided is less compared to what you get from other brands at a much less price. The first time I saw the tub I was really disappointed. Let me tell you the tub is way bigger than what it is actually holding. Nevertheless, the first time I used it I understood that this would still last me as long as my other spa creams have. You know how huge those Matrix spa cream tubs are. Right? This is just a baby in front of them. That being said, you actually need just 1/3rd of what you would take when using matrix or Loreal. That is the second best part about it. I remember using half a fist of other spa creams to cover my “longer than mid back length hair”. But with this I use just a...um...I would say a dollop or two at the max.

The best thing about Schwarzkopf BC Bonacure hair therapy Repair Rescue is how intensely moisturizing it is and how well it worksfor even the driest of hair. After shampooing I keep this on for around 15-20 mins (though the instructions say 1-2 mins) while I finish bathing and then rinse it off with cold water. It leaves my hair super soft and shiny and the effect stays for around 4 days along with the fresh scent which is pretty good. There was a visible difference in the first wash itself and with regular use it has definitely made my hair healthier. One more thing that I noticed was that it helped my dead ends a lot. Like I said, I have dry hair and the hair ends are even drier and that makes my hair look really damaged and straw like. Schwarzkopf BC Bonacure hair therapy Repair Rescue moisturized my hair ends really well and I can say it makes the split ends way less visible, if not repair them (nothing can do that, except for SCISSORS). People with oily hair should stay away from it as it may be quite heavy duty for them.

All in all, Schwarzkopf BC Bonacure hair therapy Repair Rescue is the best spa cream/ hair treatment I have tried so far. The formula is amazing and I hope they work on the pricing too. Go ahead and buy it if you are looking for a product that actually works for dry hair.

Rating: 4.5/5 I am deducting half point for the bad pricing.

Shopping spree

I know I am writing after a long time…but then I was really busy. Anyways I went shopping yesterday and bought a few things.

Here are they:

1)   l’oreal paris smooth intense shampoo  & conditioner

What it says: Is your hair dry, difficult to smooth or unmanageable? Does your hair absorb humidity causing your hair to look unruly? For these specific needs, the l’oreal laboratories have developed SMOOTH INTENSE smoothing shampoo

INGREDIENTS:

My view: Well I have used this shampoo before as well and I am quite happy with it, but never used it with the conditioner.  It does help you with the frizziness to some extent. This is my HG product.I will have to use it and only then will I be able to comment on the conditioner. But I am quite optimistic about it.

Price: rs 72 for shampoo and rs. 80 for conditioner
Available at: all leading cosmetic stores

   2) lotus pure radiance foundation

What it says:

I bought it day before yesterday and today morning I saw a lot of          bloggers blogging about it. I bought it in “ 360  soft beige (L)”. Since I have combination skin I don’t prefer foundations. But it said matte glow & oil- free. These 2 words forced me to try this foundation. Moreover it has SPF 20. I will soon try and review it.

Price: rs 175  I got it for rs. 160
Available at: all leading cosmetic stores

3)    lotus herbals neem face wash:

        What it says:

My view: I have used it only twice so can’t say much about it. I bought  it coz it says that it helps control pimples.
What I liked about it is the fact that it doesn’t dry out your skin. Its fragrance reminds me of the keshnikhaar soap. ;)

  Price: rs. 65
Available at: all leading cosmetic stores

4)    olay total effects foaming cleanser:

        What it says:

My view: Although I swear by the “cipla saslic facewash” which is  a      cleanser. It does wonders for my skin, specially in removing blackheads  completely. But when I went to this shop the SA very
cleverly convinced me to buy this cleanser cum facewash cum toner. You just need to moisturize after it.

I have used it only once. What I noticed is that it dried out my skin. So it’s definitely not good for dry- skinned people. Can’t say more coz I haven’t used it much. Will review soon.

Price: may be rs. 125. I got it for rs. 90 as there is a rs 26 off offer + the  whole sale discount… :D :D
Available at: all leading cosmetic stores.

5)    olay total effects anti-ageing cream:

What it says: 7-in-1 anti ageing cream with SPF 15.
For normal skin.

I bought it for my mum.
Price: rs. 343 I got it for rs. 310.. :D
Available at: all leading cosmetic stores

6)    tejus anti wrinkle & anti marks cream:

What it says:

It claims to work as an anti wrinkle cream and also removes marks. I have been using it since a week. May be it does work. Not sure. I have got some acne marks. But lately I have been taking a lot of care of my skin. So don’t know if it’s the cream or other things that are working.
But it does smell nice.

Price: rs. 150
Available at: all  patanjali stores

That's all for today...
Have fun n keep blogging.
