Review: Sivanna Shining Star Shimmer Brick | Beautifull & Blessed

Hello beautiful people!

I am back from a much needed holiday. Went back to my native place after ages! and had lot of fun. I also shot a few videos over there. It is so much easier to shoot there. Everything is so much better- the natural lighting, no noise, no heat to melt you off! I so want to just settle down there!

Anyways, so today I am reviewing Sivanna Cosmetics Shining Star Shimmer Bricks. I am totally loving it at the moment. This is such a gorgeous highlighting palette. From the pale to the darker skinned beauties..everyone will love it.

It imparts a very healthy glow to the face. You can of course use single colors as an eyeshadow or for blush. And when you swirl them all together, it gives the most b'ful golden glow with just a slight hint of color.

Fresh Day Time Look

Hello beautiful people!

It has been really windy here and it rained a little yesterday. Hopefully monsoon will arrive soon.

So, I did this quick and easy makeup look which would make you look really fresh. This is apt to wear during the day if you have any important event to attend but don't want to go with a face full of makeup. I am sure everyone out there can achieve this look since I have kept it very simple and practical.

Christmas LOTD

Merry Christmas!! I hope all of you are enjoying the holidays and the winters. My family is here with me nowadays, hence I did not post much in the last few days. It has been a really long time since I did a LOTD. So, here I go with my christmas-y look. Enjoy the pics and don't forget to comment below. :)

1. Start off with a clean moisturized face. I first primed my lids using the Garnier tinted roll on. I applied it all over the lids, taking it out upto the brow bone.

2. Taking a matt brown eyeshadow, I applied it all over the crease, diffusing it outwards. Make sure this brown shade is just a shade or 2 darker than your skin tone.

3. Take another matt brown color. This time 2-3 shades darker than the first one and using a pencil brush apply in it the outer 1/3rd of the lids, creating an outer V. Now blend this color out. Make sure just to blend out the edges and don't take this color too far.

4. Taking another matt brown eyeshadow (darker than the 2nd one) create one more V in the outer 1/3rd area of the lid. Keep this V even more concentrated and it should be smaller than the last V that we created. Blend it out lightly without taking the color too far.

5. Next take a matt black shadow and apply it in the extreme outer part of the eye lid. Again create a V and blend out the edges. Make sure to use a pencil brush for applying the black shadow and go easy with it as we don't want to go very dark. Blend it out for a softer look.

6. We used so many browns, just to add dimensions to the whole look. Using just one color would have made the whole look very flat. Since I am using silver on the eyes (which is a cold color), I decided to add some warmth using a red shade. So, I took a matte red color and lightly swirled a fluffy blending brush over it. Then I swept it over the crease area very light handedly.

The key is to go very very easy with this red shade, else you may end up looking sick.

7. Using shimmery silver eyeshadow, I applied it on the center of the lids. Layer the color as per your desired intensity. Then use a light brown eyeshadow to blend out the colors again.

8. Using the same 3 brown shades that I used on the eyelids, I used them on my lower lash line. Applied them all along the lash line, leaving out just the inner corner. Apply the same silver color below your brow bone.

9. Then I used Lakme Eyeconic Kajal on my upper lashline and smudged it using a matt brown eyeshadow and winged out the liner into the black V that I had created.

10. Then I applied mascara on my lashes. I used Miyo Big Fat Smokey Lashes Mascara. Don't forget to fill and shape your eyebrows.

11. Finally I applied Ponds BB cream and set it with Makeup Revolution translucent powder.

10. Concealed my under eyes using Makeup Revolution concealer palette and set it with powder.

11. Finally I lightly contoured my cheeks using a matt brown eyeshadow from the Makeup Revolution Make Believe palette and applied Oriflame VeryMe bronzer on the cheeks.

12. I finished off with a red lipstick(Fire Desire) from Coloressence.

Makeup Revolution London Eyeshadow and Eyebrow Palette- Make Believe

I am literally obsessed with this brand. But then what do I do?! They have great quality products at such affordable rates! And add to that the pretty packaging and the fancy names. What is not to love? I have got one drawer full of Makeup Revolution products. So, expect lot more posts on the same.

I had mentioned on my Instagaram that I will soon review an eyeshadow and eyebrow palette from Makeup Revolution. Well!! It has been quite a while since then. I had bought it from Jabong a while back and have been using it quite a lot since then. It is called Make Believe Awesome eyeshadow and eyebrow palette. They have another palette in the same line. It is called “Sticks and Stones”. The colors are almost similar, Make Believe being a little brighter though.

Price: Rs 990 (or 4 pounds in UK). I got it on offer for Rs. 519.75

Packaging: Firstly, I love how light, sleek and compact it is. Easy to carry and travel with. The packaging is pretty standard- black plastic box with a magnetic flap which shuts tightly. The front is mostly see-through from where you can see all the 16 colors in there. The back has the ingredient list, expiry date and all the necessary details. It comes with two small brushes: an angled brush which can be used for shaping the brows and a sponge tip eyeshadow applicator.

Shades: This palette contains mostly shimmery eyeshadows with just one matt color. It also has an eyebrow kit-one dark brown brow color and one lighter shade which is almost skin color.

7. Shimmery molten gold color- it feels like a foil shadow. My favourite color of all.

Performance:
Texture: Almost all the eyeshadows have a buttery texture. They are shimmery and not glittery and some of them feel like foil eyeshadows which ofcourse is incredible. They are really soft and blend like a dream with no fallout at all! Also, I didn’t find them creasing.

Color Payoff: All the colors are highly pigmented.

Staying Power: They have a pretty good staying power and stay for around 6 hours without a primer and then start to fade away. Though, with a primer they can last the whole day.

Eyebrow kit usage: I use the darker shade in the eyebrow kit for filling and shaping my brows and for blending out the other colors. I also, use it for contouring purpose. It is a pretty good match for me and I think it will suit most Indians skin tones. The lighter color can be used under the eyebrows for highlighting them. I also use it for merging the colors on eyes and even for lightening the shades if I end up going heavy handed with the dark colors. I also tried using it to set my concealer and YES it did well in that department as well. Since it has pretty strong yellow undertones, it works well for setting the under eye concealer.

The eyeshadow brush is alright, nothing special, however, I quite like the eyebrow brush. It is small and makes the whole process of eyebrow grooming pretty fast and convenient.

Final verdict: If you are looking for a palette for parties and functions then go ahead with this one. It is a complete palette with almost every color you would need for your party makeup with the multi-purpose eyebrow kit. You will not need to carry 10 other things, just the basic stuff. It will keep your bag light and your pocket happy.

Rating: 4.5/5 I am deducting 0.5 because it doesn’t have a mirror. We always need one in every palette.

Makeup Revolution London Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer - Keep Lying for you

Since the time, Makeup Revolution London has been launched, they have come out with so many amazing products at pretty affordable rates. Lot of these have been considered dupes for many high-end brands. I have tried few of their products and have loved all of them. This time I went ahead with Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer which they have launched in various shades and most of them are quite bold.

Price: I have an issue here. Jabong has priced them at Rs.700 for 2ml product while the MRP mentioned on the product is Rs.460 (inclusive of all taxes). All the Makeup Revolution products are imported by Kanvar Corporation in Delhi. So, why are these being sold at a rate much higher than its MRP?
I got it on offer for Rs.236

Packaging: It comes in a pretty rose gold cardboard packaging which has all the necessary details like the ingredient list, expiry date etc. The tube is very light weight and comes with a doe-foot applicator.

My View: Firstly, I absolutely love the quirky names. They have named most of their products like this. This shows that they are putting in so much effort into each product. The one that I bought is called “Keep Lying for you”. It is a deep, dark purple color which is apt for such a name and is also perfect for the winters.

These are liquid lipsticks which dry out matte. Now, these are said to be the dupes for Lime crime velvetines, though I myself, have never used them. These are highly pigmented, spread very easily and take few seconds to set. Once set, it doesn’t budge at all. The finish is powdery matte and the best part about these velvet lacquers is that although they are matte they are still not drying like most of the matte lipsticks. That being said, never wear any matte lip product on chapped lips. It would look horrible. Prior to using this I always scrub and moisturize my lips. These lacquers feel really light on lips and it feels like you haven’t applied anything. Also, these do not transfer and last for about 7-8 hours with just a little fading, without a meal. It also survives a meal easily.

The only issue I have with them is that while drying some of it always gets onto my teeth. I always see some powder on my teeth. You can even see it in the picture below. So, make sure you clean your teeth after applying these. Other than this, I love how these are bold, matte yet non drying and brighten up my face instantly. When I wear it I don't have to worry about any touch ups throughout the day.

Final Verdict: If you love bold lips, you MUST try these. These are super affordable and most of the times Jabong has them on offer. So, keep checking out the site.

Miyo Big Fat Smokey Lashes Mascara

I recently ordered few makeup products from Jabong. They are offering amazing discounts right now so go ahead and place an order. Jabong really surprised me with their delivery this time. I ordered my package late evening on 30th October and it was delivered on 1st November morning!! Aaaaaaa!! Isn’t that insane!! I Love you guys for this. Keep up the good work!

So, while I was browsing the makeup section, my eyes fell on this little baby- a cute, fat, bright tube of mascara. I had never heard of this brand before. Since I wanted to try different mascara as I was not happy with my current one, I picked it up. Let’s see how it fared.

About the Brand: Miyo is a UK based cosmetic brand. You can find their products on Jabong.

Product claims: Get those big fat smokey look lashes! Extra volume for a truly glamorous look.

Price: Rs 580 for 10 ml. I got this on a discount where it cost me Rs 250. Yay!!

Packaging: I like the bright yellow color of the tube. It is eye catching and you can easily locate it in your makeup stash. The tube has a narrow mouth which really helps in controlling the amount of product on the brush. The packaging is definitely better than the Maybelline Hypercurl.

Brush: I absolutely love that brush. It is small and tapered at the ends. It is neither too dense nor too thin and the bristles are small and resemble the teeth of a comb. I adore how this brush spreads the mascara evenly and helps in separating the lashes. I also noticed that the brush wand is kind of flexible. So, when I apply mascara it bends a little as I curl my lashes. This really gives you better control over the way you want to apply the mascara. Thumbs up for that.

My view: The formula is thick but not very wet (If you know what I mean). It dries out pretty quickly and the best part is that the tapered mouth of the tube helps the brush in picking just the right amount of product. Furthermore, the consistency of the mascara is such that it doesn’t really get on my eyelids or on the under eye area. Honestly, I am someone who is really bad with mascara application. I end up with lots of product on my eye lids, on the corner of the eyes and even under the eyes when trying to coat the bottom lashes. But with Miyo Big Fat Smokey Lashes Mascara there is no such issue.

I usually apply just a single coat of mascara, but to check its efficiency I tried 2 coats and was really happy to see that it doesn’t clump at all. I think apart from having the right consistency, the brush shape really helps in avoiding the clumps and separating the lashes. This is a great everyday mascara. It lengthens and curls the lashes beautifully without clumping. It doesn’t really add drama to the lashes like the maybelline Collossal one does, but provides little volume. This mascara doesn't crumble at all. I have even slept with it (I know a bad bad habit, but I was dead tired)and woke up with the mascara intact and no fall off at all!! Kudos to this guy!! Also, I really love the fact that it doesn’t make my lashes look crisp and fried-you know some mascaras do that and make the lashes look really crisp. Maybelline hypercurl did that to me but this doesn’t. Although this isn't waterproof but it doesn't smudge and is pretty easy to remove. I never faced any issue while removing it, no falling lashes at all.

Final Verdict: I absolutely loved this one and would definitely recommend this to you girls. If you are looking for a good and affordable mascara then you should give this a try.

Review: Makeup Revolution The ONE foundation in shade 9

What do you look in for a perfect foundation?
1. Great shade range?

Makeup Revolution The ONE foundation is all of this and so much more.

As you all know I have super oily, highly sensitive and acne prone skin. So, I like my foundations to be light and natural looking. While everyone has been going gaga over so many Makeup Revolution makeup products, I could hardly find any detailed review online about this foundation. The fact that people compare it with a lot of high end brands made me want to try it. So, ahead I went and ordered this bad boy which had been lying in my shopping cart for 2 months now.

What does the brand say?
Makeup Revolution London-the ONE foundation:

* Matte finish

First thing first, you cannot help but notice the vast color selection they have-right from the palest to the darkest shades, you are bound to find a color that would suit your skin tone. They have a total of 16 shades (01 being the palest and 16 being the darkest).
I have a fair complexion with strong yellow undertones. I was eyeing the shade 7 for the longest time and somehow at the last moment better sense prevailed and I ended up ordering the shade number 9. I would advise you to go through the swatches carefully and always compare the darker shades and see if any of those match you better than the one you have selected.

Price: Rs. 760 for 29ml product. This retails for 4 Pounds in UK, so it should have been priced at around Rs. 400 or say Rs. 500, but they have priced it at Rs. 760 which is almost double of what it is available for in UK. I think this defeats the whole purpose of coming out with affordable makeup which this brand is targeting!! Guys if you are listening, kindly work on the price. Although the packaging is really small, but it will last you a long time since a little goes a long way. Also, I am happy that I will be able to finish it up.

Packaging: The product comes in a black and golden cardboard box with the ingredient list and all the other details embossed in golden color. The actually product is in a plain opaque plastic bottle which has a nozzle to dispense the product. The nozzle is covered with a screw-on black cap. The bottle is itself in skin color and has just the brand and product name written in black on one side, while on the other side is pasted the shade number. The packaging and texture is very similar to MAC Face & Body foundation. I find the packaging to be the best for this texture and very fuss free and travel friendly as well.

Texture: The foundation is very runny. It is advised to shake the bottle well before every use. I once forgot to do it and out came very heterogeneous product. When you shake the bottle, you can feel how runny the foundation is!! It is almost as runny as water-OK may be a little less. Be careful while pouring it on your hands as it can run down if you take out too much. Also, it smells a little medicinal to me, although nothing bothersome as the smell doesn’t linger.

Finish: The foundation feels very lightweight and has a very natural satiny finish. I like the fact that this is not overtly matte but very natural. It feels very silky and smooth to apply and is very easy to blend. I use my fingers to apply this as I feel it is the best way to use it. Since it is so easy to work with it is my go-to foundation to use when I am in hurry. It almost feels like nothing on your skin but makes it look so much better in a very natural way. The fact that this is pretty sheer to start with, means one shade can suit quite a lot of skin tones. I need 2 drops on each cheek and 2-3 drops for the rest of the face. It can cling to the dry patches on your face so make sure to exfoliate and moisturize your face before applying it. Oily skin girls can opt for a light moisturizer with this as this is also little moisturising. The dry skinned beauties must moisturize heavily before using this else it would look patchy on them.

The swatch looks so dark but when applied on face this adapts to your natural color.

Coverage: The brand says it is a full coverage foundation; however, I would like to disagree. The foundation has a sheer to medium coverage which can be built up. Even when you layer it up it does not get cakey at all. This is the perfect foundation for the “good skin days”. It does not cover up any acne marks, although it can cover up light blemishes and the redness. You would need a separate concealer, if you would like to conceal the acne marks.

Staying power: It stayed on my very oily skin for a good 5-6 hours outdoors (no AC) without any touch up. I am sure it would do much better in an air conditioned environment. The fact that it did not make my already oily skin oilier is a huge plus for me as most of the foundations end up doing that. When I came back I could see that the foundation had faded but my face still looked fresh and not very oily, but glowy. I dabbed a dry tissue all over my face to soak the excess oil and I looked completely fresh again. Also, it does not oxidise at all.

Final verdict: I highly recommend this. Since, the day I have tried this I am addicted to it and go back to it again & again. It has replaced my much loved Lakme Mousse foundation as this looks more natural and is so much lighter. I want to get this in a darker shade that I can use for contouring as well.
