Packaging: Michael Todd true organics CHARCOAL DETOX deep pore gel cleanser comes in a lavender and purple packaging with a pump dispenser. The bottle is made of good quality plastic and is sturdy. The bottle contains all the necessary information like ingredients, expiry date, directions etc. You can easily carry this in your purse without the fear of this spilling inside your bag, since the pump is tight enough not to leak the product out.

Scent: To me it smells like eucalyptus or tea tree oil. I find the scent to be very refreshing, though people with very sensitive nose might not like it.

Texture: Michael Todd true organics CHARCOAL DETOX deep pore gel cleanser, as the name suggests, is a gel cleanser with very minute charcoal particles. The gel is transparent with lots of grey charcoal particles which make the product look black.

My View: I was sent Michael Todd true organics CHARCOAL DETOX deep pore gel cleanser. It is specially formulated for oily and acne prone skin. This is a blessing in disguise for me since my skin type is just what it is made for.

Like I said I have oily and acne prone skin and I have been using the same cleanser since the past 2 years.-the one prescribed by my dermatologist. Let me repeat again, there are very few skin care products which suit my skin and most of them break me out. Ofcourse, I was sceptical about using Michael Todd true organics CHARCOAL DETOX deep pore gel cleanser thinking it would do the same. But pleasantly it did not.

This is a very mild cleanser in the sense that it doesn’t dry out my skin and maintains its pH balance while controlling the excess oil production and taking care of the acne YET highly effective at removing makeup. Yes, I have tried cleaning an entire face of makeup using just this and it removed every last trace of makeup on my face. It is even effective in removing the eye makeup and doesn’t irritate the eyes at all even if it accidentally goes into your eyes, which BTW happens a lot with me.

It lathers pretty well and the foam feels creamy and luxurious. I take 1 pump into my palms and activate the product by rubbing my hands. Then I apply the Michael Todd true organics CHARCOAL DETOX deep pore gel cleanser all over my moist face in gentle circular motions, concentrating more on the problem areas. I rinse it out with lukewarm water. This cleanser is easy to remove and doesn’t leave any residue behind. My skin feels clean, soft and supple after using this.

Although, it is formulated for oily skinned beauties but I am very sure that this will be equally effective for the girls with dry skin as it is VERY mild.

Over the course of last 1 month, I have been using this every day, 2 times a day (morning and evening) and it has definitely taken care of the oil and acne without stripping off the moisture from my skin. And I have used up just 1/4th of the product. This will surely last me 2 more months.

Final Verdict: If you have dry or oily skin with acne issues, then you must give this a try. It is organic and very mild and highly effective..all at the same time. This is the best combination ever! The only issue is the cost and availability. It would cost you around Rs.460 per month which may not be very cheap but is still affordable. Moreover, this acts as a cleanser and a makeup remover, so you don’t have to invest in one separately.
I know people who have problematic skin (like I do), always look out for products which don’t just claim to do things but actually do it. And Michael Todd true organics CHARCOAL DETOX deep pore gel cleanser is one such product.

Rating: 4/5 (I have deducted 1 point for the price and not being easily available.)

PS: I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

KLM KLIN cleanser with 2% salicylic acid

As the title says, today I will be reviewing my HG face wash. Before I start talking about the product, let me tell you my skin stats.

Skin Type: Oily-sensitive-acne prone/ large open pores/ in Summers & Combination-normal in winters.

Well I have always had very very very oily skin, but never a problematic one. All this changed when I turned 20. I suddenly started getting huge pimples all over my face and these were big, puss-filled painful ones. This sudden change in my skin really took a toll on me and in order to hide these disgusting things on my face I started using lots of makeup. But this only worsened the situation and my face turned into a battleground with pimples popping up everywhere.

I tried everything I could think of- Aloepathic medicines, homeopathic medicines, ayurvedic treatment, home remedies, over the counter products. You name it and I must have tried it. Nothing worked for me and eventually I gave up. Then I moved to Delhi last year and a friend introduced me to a dermatologist. Honestly speaking I had no hopes from her as I had tried every possible thing over these 2 years. She analysed my skin and gave me few ointments and a face wash.

I started using the products and saw amazing results. It has been 1.5 years since then and I have used numerous tubes of this face wash. Yes I have found my HG face wash. It's KLM KLIN. It's a pharma product not easily available though but a boon for oily skinned girls like me.

Packaging: It comes in a silver-blue carton (which I have thrown away) with a transparent blue colored tube. You have to press the tube to get the product out.

Price: Rs. 120 for 50gms. It will easily last you 20 days if used twice-thrice daily.

Composition:

Texture: It is a gel face wash which contains red, blue and yellow beads. It foams well- not frothy foam but little creamy (if you know what I mean). The best part is that it doesn't dry out my skin at all but effectively removes the oil and maintains the moisture. In summers I don't put any moisturizer on my face after using this. It works just fine. Although, in winters I sometimes do follow up with a light moisturizer.

Fragrance: It has a very mild citrus-y fragrance.

Best way To Use: The best way to use it is to apply it on a wet face and massage it gently in circular motions. Keep massaging for 1-2 minutes, focusing more on the oilier areas or where a pimple is about to pop up. Rinse.
Not only does it work on existing acne but also prevents new ones. It wonderfully controls the oil secretion and adds a glow to the face.
This is a must have product if you have oily skin. The only problem is that it is not available easily. Other than that this is a God-sent product for girls like me.

Will I repurchase it?: I have already used so many tubes that I have lost count. I will not be getting back to any other face wash.
Do give it a try girls. Let me know if you have used this product or what works for you.

Shopping spree

I know I am writing after a long time…but then I was really busy. Anyways I went shopping yesterday and bought a few things.

Here are they:

1)   l’oreal paris smooth intense shampoo  & conditioner

What it says: Is your hair dry, difficult to smooth or unmanageable? Does your hair absorb humidity causing your hair to look unruly? For these specific needs, the l’oreal laboratories have developed SMOOTH INTENSE smoothing shampoo

INGREDIENTS:

My view: Well I have used this shampoo before as well and I am quite happy with it, but never used it with the conditioner.  It does help you with the frizziness to some extent. This is my HG product.I will have to use it and only then will I be able to comment on the conditioner. But I am quite optimistic about it.

Price: rs 72 for shampoo and rs. 80 for conditioner
Available at: all leading cosmetic stores

   2) lotus pure radiance foundation

What it says:

I bought it day before yesterday and today morning I saw a lot of          bloggers blogging about it. I bought it in “ 360  soft beige (L)”. Since I have combination skin I don’t prefer foundations. But it said matte glow & oil- free. These 2 words forced me to try this foundation. Moreover it has SPF 20. I will soon try and review it.

Price: rs 175  I got it for rs. 160
Available at: all leading cosmetic stores

3)    lotus herbals neem face wash:

        What it says:

My view: I have used it only twice so can’t say much about it. I bought  it coz it says that it helps control pimples.
What I liked about it is the fact that it doesn’t dry out your skin. Its fragrance reminds me of the keshnikhaar soap. ;)

  Price: rs. 65
Available at: all leading cosmetic stores

4)    olay total effects foaming cleanser:

        What it says:

My view: Although I swear by the “cipla saslic facewash” which is  a      cleanser. It does wonders for my skin, specially in removing blackheads  completely. But when I went to this shop the SA very
cleverly convinced me to buy this cleanser cum facewash cum toner. You just need to moisturize after it.

I have used it only once. What I noticed is that it dried out my skin. So it’s definitely not good for dry- skinned people. Can’t say more coz I haven’t used it much. Will review soon.

Price: may be rs. 125. I got it for rs. 90 as there is a rs 26 off offer + the  whole sale discount… :D :D
Available at: all leading cosmetic stores.

5)    olay total effects anti-ageing cream:

What it says: 7-in-1 anti ageing cream with SPF 15.
For normal skin.

I bought it for my mum.
Price: rs. 343 I got it for rs. 310.. :D
Available at: all leading cosmetic stores

6)    tejus anti wrinkle & anti marks cream:

What it says:

It claims to work as an anti wrinkle cream and also removes marks. I have been using it since a week. May be it does work. Not sure. I have got some acne marks. But lately I have been taking a lot of care of my skin. So don’t know if it’s the cream or other things that are working.
But it does smell nice.

Price: rs. 150
Available at: all  patanjali stores

That's all for today...
Have fun n keep blogging.
